On a recent visit to Cancun, I toured the JW Marriott located in the heart of the hotel zone. The resort is on the larger side, with 447 rooms. Guests of the JW Marriott have access to the services on the Marriott side, located right next door. All room categories offer a view. You can choose from partial ocean view, ocean view, oceanfront, and lagoon view. The lagoon view offers amazing sunsets over the Nichupte lagoon. All rooms were recently renovated in July of 2019. The resort offers an adults-only section for couples looking for a little more relaxation.

The rooms are modern and offer all the amenities you would expect from the JW brand. The resort beach is beautiful, and you can walk for miles along the shore. There are several wedding ceremony locations available. The pool terrace, oceanview gazebo, seaside garden, and a catholic chapel. The resort is not all-inclusive. However, an all-inclusive option is available when 30 room nights are confirmed.

Luxury Resort In Cancun, In The Heart of It All

On a recent trip to Cancun, I took some time to pay a visit to resorts I have not been to before. I was very impressed by this luxury resort in Cancun, in the hotel zone. Nizuc is listed as one of the 500 best hotels in the world by Travel & Leisure. A short drive from the airport, you can lounge on the powder white sand beach, and enjoy a villa experience with a modern take on Mayan tradition.

The resort offers 2 Bars, 6 restaurants, and is an EP plan resort. There are two beaches, 1 is for adults only. The resort includes daily non-motorized activities. There are three building sections; adults-only (age 13 and up), family & villas. Each building and villas have their own butler. The furnishings are modern and pay tribute to the Mayan heritage and architecture. No detail has gone unnoticed, and natural elements surround you wherever you look.

An Adventurous Elopement in Costa Rica

A story of love, patience, and hope. Sarah & Rick had planned for their symbolic adventurous elopement in Costa Rica for April of 2020. Like many other couples, their plans changed. When it was clear that travel to Costa Rica would not be possible, their plans were postponed until August of 2020. August was quickly approaching, and their home state of Kentucky was not on the list of states that could visit Costa Rica when traveling resumed. Once again, they had to postpone their plans and were hopeful that their wedding would take place in April of 2021.

I am happy to report that they celebrated their symbolic wedding this past April. Their intimate elopement took place in Guanacaste, at the Riu Palace Costa Rica. Their ceremony was on the beautiful resort beach of Matapalo. This fun and adventurous couple personalized their wedding with a sand ceremony. Their wedding day photography was provided by the resort’s preferred photography service, Wedding Day Story. Their photographer Brian Palacio, captured beautiful photos of the happy couple.

Sarah had found her wedding dress in 2019. It fit her perfectly, and she knew she had found the one. Sarah remarked after their elopement that she got to wear her wedding dress more than many other brides. She surprised Rick with a professional photo session at home, in 2019. They had a reception with their family and friends in April of 2021 prior to leaving for Costa Rica, and of course, she wore her beautiful dress again for their adventurous elopement in Costa Rica.

The resort is in the perfect location for an adventurous elopement. Sarah & Rick, along with Sarah’s parents enjoyed a day of adventure to the Arenal rainforest & hot springs. Sarah & Rick had some private adventures on their own. A zip line exploration and a tour to the Arenal Volcano. Following their ceremony, Sarah remarked, “We had a private dinner with a cake that was so good I almost passed out eating it.”
